Contours
2019 - 2020

The planet is a constructed environment: a space that has been defined for, created by, and scaled to the image of the human species. Contours points out this human exceptionalism and meditates on what it would mean to shift this gaze upon the world. Through both installed projected video and printed imagery, Contours conducts a visual cacophony of de-familiarization, abstraction, and legible illegibility of image and language. In an effort to craft a vision of a more inclusive future both ecologically and socially, the images in Contours suggest a world that privileges not only the human but the other than human as well.
