The Way We’ve Always Seen
2020 - 2021The Way We’ve Always Seen uncovers connections between design, urbanism, and what is commonly considered “Nature”—connections that have always existed in symbiosis, but are rarely recognized as reality.
The images from this new body of work re-enchant an old gaze upon “Nature” with a vocabulary that collapses perceived isolated spaces, affirms the world as an integrated ecology, and celebrates environment as cyborg. The Way We’ve Always Seen gazes askew, transporting to a parallel sense of familiar; a familiar that understands our diverse human affect and encourages collaboration between environments, technologies, and populations. Nothing we see is new; we’ve all been here forever.
